Whoopy and Barry visited the Maricopa County Hospital Children’s Floor.

Whoopy not only got to visit a bunch of kids between 3 & 18 today, but also got to be walked by 2 kids down the long corridors. One young boy had surgery yesterday and Whoop had him up and walking his first long walk. Another cute 3 year old was really standoff-ish when Whoopy came in the room, but by the end of the visit she was petting and hugging Whoopy.

Not only did she get to meet and greet kids, but was loved by parents, nurses, doctors and most of the staff and visitors.

A great day for Whoopy and Barry.

I suppose because it’s 102 degrees here today in Phoenix, that I’d like to bring up a point,  HEAT CAN BE DEADLY!!!!!!  Important tips to remember:  Don’t leave your pets outdoors unsupervised if you can help it. If you do leave them outside, make sure they have plenty of shade, water and a cool place to rest. DO NOT LEAVE YOUR ANIMALS IN A CAR IN THE SUMMER!!  The temperature in a car can soar to over 120 degrees in a matter of minutes. DO NOT WALK YOUR DOGS ON BLACKTOP IN PARKING LOTS to take your dog into a pet store.  THINK ABOUT IT, take your shoes off and see what it feels like…your dog HAS NO SHOES!!! And lastly, make sure your pet knows how to get out of your pool, if you have one.  Your pet may want to cool off, can they get out once they get into a pool?  DO NOT OVER EXERCISE your pet in the heat.  Your pets wear a fur coat, running and playing in the heat can make them overheat in no time. C’mon, just use common sense, folks and keep your pets safe!

Got skunk Stench?

Ok, so one call I got on Fri from a woman who’s cat got skunked at point blank, then ran into the house!  I thought some of you out there may have the same problem.

I told her to run to PetSmart (or one of the other retail stores listed on our website at 88.stink.com) and get the Cat Litter Additive Powder. It used to be called Pet Odor Eliminator…same product, different label.  You pack it on the pet, it’s totally safe to be licked or eaten…and sprinkle lightly any of the OdorZout All Surface granules around the house.  (Pet, Household and Cat All Surface are all the same, different labels for different depts)  Leave it 24 hours and vacuum it away.  Repeat until the odor is gone.  She called back today…odor eliminated!!  Man, skunk is one strong stink! Our skunk odor remover will do the trick every time.
